Social media's shortcomings motivate this format as a solution

Early Adopters & Repeat Offenders
This is not my first rodeo.
My internet experience goes back to the early days, watching things evolve from pre-windows chats & forums to the repeated walling-off & network effects of social media.
I’ve tried just about everything at some point, but never really being satisfied. I’ve been early on some, late on others. Coming back to something like a blog doesn’t seem like a very good idea for me, but the most recent state of social media has pushed me over the edge of belief: I no longer am holding out for something better to make it, in the environment we’re in. I’m not going to go into that now, as I want to keep this short.
It suffices to say that the Twitter clone “BlueSky” has some pull, but suffers too many structural problems/limits from the parent’s format. Mastodon has much better structure, but lacks in the engagement department. Services meant to make cross-posting easy (or even possible) also failed to meet my needs. Basically, the best way to do that is via an independent 3rd party platform such as this one (Beehiiv.com).
A Notblogger
My intention is not the typical blog format so much as a stand-in supplement & merging of my existing social media accounts. The “serendipity” in the bio refers to the sporadic nature of following the streams of others online, though mine is much curated & filtered for a careful selection of topics. Of course, the random hook-up still happens, and I find that going with this flow, rather than fighting it, much as the practice of meditation calls for, is the better way to go for me. It aligns fairly well with the particular autistic spectrum attention style I have, and though it does take longer, it delivers an amount of diversity that enables deeper thought processes, elements of surprise, & richer connectivity.
In the end, my social media is something like a compilation of notes I take along the way. My posts are very often long chains of seemingly unrelated items brought together in curious ways that help expose their connections. Trying to get others to jump in was difficult in either the short-text format of bluesky, or the dull engagement ambiance of mastodon.
So, without further ado, here goes the experiment! Bear with me while I’m on a new learning curve & trying to figure out if this is even the right platform.
